BASKETMOUTH REACTS TO BISHOP OYEDEPO’S TWEET ON TITHING

Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth took to his official Instagram page to react to the tweet of founder and pastor of Living faith church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.

It was earlier reported that the Bishop spoke about tithing through his official Twitter page. According to him, tithing is an inescapable covenant obligation, which will attract a curse if not obeyed.

He stated that one cannot be prosperous without paying tithe, noting that whoever does not pay tithe is under a financial curse.

In reaction to this statement, Basketmouth posted on his Instagram page saying:

THIS LIFE NO BALANCE AT ALL. The Government will threaten us with prosecution if we don’t pay our TAX and VAT.

The Church will now threaten us with a FINANCIAL CURSE if you don’t pay your TITHE!

Inside the terrible economy? With the level of unemployment? ABEGI!

Following this post, many were attracted to this post such as the musician Rude boy who said:

He will like to call Dangote and  Bill Gate  to ask if they pay tithe to settle the matter ones and for all.

The comedian Acapella commented:

The same people who preach grace (unmerited favour) are the same people who are preaching about tithe to get favour

Entertainer and actor Uti Nwachukwu jokingly responded saying:

If baskermouth doesn’t send him money he should watch out.

Many others shared their opinion on his ppost apparently in favour of Basket mouth’s post, saying pastors are like entertainers and plan to get money from their congregation.
