Nigerian gospel musician, songwriter, and worship leader Sunday Ekaidem, who is based in the UK, has returned with a stirring new single called “The Rest & Best of My Life.” His first release of 2025, the song is taken from an album that will be released later this year.

Like a soldier swearing loyalty to his commander, this single is a prayer of consecration and a commitment to God’s will. “The Rest & Best of My Life” by Sunday Ekaidem was inspired by a profoundly intimate moment of introspection that occurred during one of his 2022 prayer sessions. In different communities and online, he found himself reflecting on the amazing things that young people were doing for God. “What was I doing with my life when these people were getting ready for their current exploits?” he asked himself in that sacred moment.

A prayer of surrender resulted from this query. “Even though I could not change my past, I started telling God that I would give Him the rest of my life, which I thought would be the best part of my life,” he revealed. The song’s lyrics, “Let the rest and the best of my life, be Yours, be Yours,” came naturally from this prayer. Says Sunday Ekaidem.
