Watch : Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin Premieres From Gangster to Gospel to Redemption Series

Kirk and Snoop

Earlier West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg announced that he was working up a gospel album titled Bible of Love. The idea of him working a gospel album got us all talking and wondering what to expect, knowing that he is a and core rapper and not a holy one for that matter. True to his words, not only did he released the gospel album, Snoop stayed at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart for six weeks straight. His list of featured artist were welcoming and intriguing at same time with names such as Fred Hammond, Patti LaBelle, Tye Tribbett, Charlie Wilson, Slade and more.

Now the legend is hosting us to a no holds barred real talk session on Youtube titled  From Gangster To Gospel To Redemption, a fresh three-part YouTube series with the Urban Gospel music icon, Kirk Franklin.

In Episode 1 of the new hip-hop-gospel collaborative venture, Kirk and Snoop talk all things spirituality, faith and its grace on unholier moments from their respective pasts. He recalled the first time he ever met Snoop Doggy Dogg backstage at BET’s Soul Train Awards. As they delve into the conversation, Snoop dropped a gem on Kirk about gangsta rap’s birth from gospel music.
