Few weeks ago, a passenger ( with instagram user handle @irienosaoni ) on a bus from ikeja under bridge took a video of this gospel CD mixtape and Lyrics book seller who practically sings all the songs in the lyrics book just to get you to buy. His voice alone would make you buy even if you don’t want to, because he has a lovely voice. I have actually encountered him several times and also wanted to do the same thing.
The Making of Sylvestar
The beautiful story is that ace music producer and song writer, Wilson Joel, took interest in this man that we now know is Sylvester and decided to support him. Wilson started a fund raising project to get the Sylvester and his family out of the wooden shack they live in at Ajegunle. As at today, with the help of several well meaning Nigerians, a total of over 1 million Naira has been raise to support him and his family. His rendition of Onos’ Alabgara and Sinach’s More of You will leave you breathless as he flawlessly delivers these two songs to perfection.
He was recently interviewed on ThenetNG – an Online TV and Nigeria info 99.3.
Also, Sylvester’s first ever studio recording is ready. The song is titled The Battle and is set to hit the internet for free download soon. Sylvester is on social media with the handle @sylvestar in instagram.
