It’s a yearly ritual for us here at Gospotainment to make a list of the people changing gospel music in Nigeria. This is when we recognize and appreciate these people for impacting gospel music and entertainment in Nigeria. See 2014 and 2015 publication.

Pastor Paul Adefarsin

Pastor Paul is the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Lagos and convener of the largest gospel concert in the world; The Experience Lagos concert which has been on for 11years now and had this year an intimidating 600,000 worshipers present.  The concert has come to become the pilgrimage centre of gospel music and is the dream platform for every gospel act.  Also pastor Paul has partnered with brands to promote gospo-centric contents. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PHD

The senior pastor and chief Shepard of Believer’s love world also know as Christ-Embassy have been impacting and influencing the outcome of Nigerian gospel music. From starting the first church-owned gospel music label to the first church owned gospel music distribution network, It’s no more news that arguably 75% of the most successful gospel music artists in Nigeria are from Christ embassy. He is also known for lavishly giving his gospel music ministers gifts in forms of whooping sums of cash and expensive cars. He also honours upcoming and already established music ministers with the LMAA (Love world international music and Art award) which he launched this year. Common Wealth of Zion (COZA). Under the auspices of Pastor Biodun,  is no news to the gospel music artists. It has for the last two years arguably been the best place to go perform and get first-class hospitality.   Also, the COZA Abuja choir has since been tagged to be one of the best choirs in Nigeria in terms of artistry and professionalism. All this would not be possible if the Pastor didn’t create the right atmosphere for such level of excellence to thrive. Nnamdi Ekeh

Nnamdi Ekeh Vice president of  Yudala is unique in that he is young and is currently pioneering the first true composite retail platform in Africa. What the continent has seen prior to their entry was at best a window-dressing. Mike Abdul

The quartet member of Midnight Crew, Mike Abdul is the most featured popular gospel music artist in recordings and music videos. The popular Nigerian producer and CEO of Doxology Music, in the spirit of profound gratitude and thanksgiving to God for delivering him unhurt and sparing his life from a ghastly car accident, organized a free music business crash course called Notes2Notes (featuring Sammie Okposo, Praiz, Uche Nnaji, Tee Mac, Femi Leye, Onos, Issac Geralds & lots more) This course helped a lot of upcoming artist master the act of the business of their God given talent. Pastor Taiwo Bolodeoku

Taiwo Bolodeoku is the Pastor of Joshua Ville, an assembly of people whose vision is conceived from God’s instructions to Joshua (Joshua 1:1-3). They represent a fresh generation able to conceive and achieve more than our predecessors. Joshua Ville is an outreach expression of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David. Thankfully, he is the convener of the NIGHT OF WORSHIP gospel concert that has been running for some years and featured the likes of Travis Greene, Nathaniel Bassey, Sonnie Badu, Pita, BJ sax and others. Timothy Chihurumnanya Ogboruche(Tim Tehila)

The CEO of Tehila Records again held it down this year in August for the fourth time with Alabanza Concert. In the previous years, the concert has been a huge success as it featured American Gospel Music Artiste Kierra Sheard and other Nigerian Gospel Music Artists Uche Agu, Chiika100%, Sammie Okposo, Onos Ariyo, Nikki Laoye, Pita, Bukola Bekes, Nathaniel Bassey amongst others. A Successful Manager of Nigeria’s finest – Enkay and Chiika 100%, Timothy provides platforms for his artist to shine and showcase their gifts. He has invested time and resources to ensure that gospel music is at its finest constantly giving out his sound equipment for gospel concerts. Onos Ariyo 
Onos is a gospel music minister who has consistently held it down in the female gospel. She is already bringing great dynamism into the music industry and with her life-changing music. She won the BEST FEMALE VOCALIST at the Nigeria Gospel Music Awards 2012 and Crystal Awards 2013. she is the Nigeria coordinator of  W.A.O.M.M.  Women of African Origin in Music Ministry( WAOMM) is an organization whose main objective is to act as a bridge; a springboard; a voice; and a support system in and through which women of African origin in music ministry can be supported, encouraged and empowered to discover, develop, demonstrate and deliver excellence in their ministries to the glory of God. This organization has branch around the world and since its inception has been actively involved in redefining the role of women in the gospel music ministry. This year they organized a mentorship program for young female Nigerian gospel artists with cash rewards.
