Pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, in the early hours of Saturday, October 17, 2020 addressed #ENDSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos.
He said,
“ËndSARS, bad leadership will end, poverty will end, frustration will end, armed robbery will end, the killing of people will end, Boko Haram will end. It is only the beginning”
In the address which was broadcast by the BBC News Pidgin, and monitored by Church Times, Ighodalo told the boisterous crowd that Nigeria is the greatest country in the world urging the youths never to give up their agitation.
“I am privileged to be a Nigerian. I am proud to be a Nigerian. Nigeria will get to where it is going. You guys are powerful. No retreat no surrender.”
He urged the people to ensure they all have permanent voter cards saying the time had come
“to vote honest people, forthright people and people that love Nigeria, people that will do great things to make Nigeria better again. You must know who to vote for, you must make sure your vote counts.”
Pastor Ighodalo, whose ministry is particular about youth development and empowerment, has been vocal on issues such as this , in the past.
He has now joined the long list of prominent Nigerians and Christian leaders who have joined the #ENDSARS movement and voiced out against the issue of Police brutality and bad governance in general.
