Don’t compare yourself with another
2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV
[12] For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
This will dawn much later on you and you will learn to stay on and in your own course
It leads to untold hardship and stress if you over reach yourself .
Gods grace is only available for Gods will
Not everything is a function of study and prayer even though you will study and pray in All things
Certain things are gifts bestowed by God on men .
You don’t get it via studying or copying such persons .
It’s given freely by God
Paul claimed to labour more than all the apostles 1 Corinthians 15:10..yet added a caveat..
“..yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”
He laboured but was specially endowed of God!
Even if you steal Paul’s teaching ,buy up his Greek and Hebrew concordances ,pray in his prayer room,lay hands with the left hand as he ” does “, wear his kind of suits ..,
You still won’t have his grace which was bestowed on him without all these above .
Know and recognize the place of grace .
Jesus chose the twelve and paul etc with none having to work for what they had but rather worked with it and they have remained our reference points
Like the Yorubas say
Eni ti olorun da kose fara we…( don’t try and imitate or contest with one whom God chose )
Hence Paul’s exhortation
Romans 12:3-4 KJV
[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Don’t think more highly than the grace you have been bestowed with
[4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
We have different offices ,grace and giftings!
You will know what God gave you and what you don’t have too
Note those whom God has so bestowed upon ,don’t contest but receive from them .
You will be better for it and definitely the Church too.
