Ezra 4:24 That put a stop to the work on The Temple of God in Jerusalem. Nothing more was done until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

Whether we admit it or not, like it or not, there are people around us who hate seeing us make progress or exponential strides.
?They are vexed and they can’t hide it.

The Jews set out to rebuild the damaged temple in Jerusalem, yet, some busybodies were having cramps allover. They were pained the Jews were once again doing something worthwhile. They did not stop there…they wrote a petition against the Jews and sought approval to stop them.
V23 says, “They lost no time. They went to the Jews in Jerusalem and made them quit work…”
V24 says, “That put a stop to the work on The Temple of God in Jerusalem.
As it were, they accomplished their goal. The enemies gained momentary victory.❌
