Mark 14v3-6 ESV
And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. 4There were some who said to themselves indignantly, “Why was the ointment wasted like that? 5For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they scolded her. 6But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me..
Note??This woman poured out or is it “wasted” a full year’s wage worth of oil on Christ and many were upset and infact had better opinions as to what she could have earned from the sale of the Alabaster box of oil..
✔was it their money?✔Was it their giving? (like we say in local parlance)? Now, who does that?Giving a full year’s wage to someone and expecting nothing in return..
If anyone does that, he or she does so only to deserving people in their opinion.
It was her perfume, ✔It was her choice, yet,✔ those around her were full of indignation.
If you can’t give to God, you cannot give to the less privileged cheerfully. (Some now even do just to update their social media status)
✔For someone who gave a year’s wage to God, she must have given severally & sacrificially to the less privileged.
Jesus said to the “foolish people” complaining, “leave her alone, why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me..David said in 2 Samuel 24:24b KJV…neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing.
Brethren, there is nothing more rewarding than that which is sacrificial..Determine what to give to God or what to give in furtherance of God’s kingdom etc and watch out for what God will do.
✔determine to do that which God calls ” beautiful. “
?Surely, God cannot forget your labour of love and in due season, you will reap beyond your imaginations in Jesus name??
