“But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.” (Matthew 14: 24)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When Jesus’ disciples got into the ship in order to move to the other side, they encountered waves that beat the ship and tossed it about; the waves attacked the ship; the waves had a negative effect on the ship, but did not touch the disciples. It happened to the ship, but it did not happen to the disciples in the ship.
Friend, hear God’s word of grace to you: it may happen to your ship but it won’t happen to you. The negativity in your environment may toss your ship around, but it won’t harm you. The enemy may tamper with something that belongs to you, but he can’t tamper with your life; the wicked gossip of your haters may rob you of some opportunities, but they can’t tamper with the divine deposits that God has already planted in you all by Himself.
When the storms of life arise, cheer up, it may rock your ship and toss you about, but it won’t do you any harm. When the economy goes bad, don’t lose sleep, you will survive. When challenges threaten to put you to shame, don’t despair, it can only touch what belongs to you but it won’t touch you. The enemy may appear to pull down what you have, but he can’t pull you down.
If you have a relationship with God, then your life is hid in Christ and Christ in God. If you are connected to God, the negative winds of this world may blow as they wish, but you won’t be their victim. You are seated with Christ, far above principalities and powers, and far above the winds tormenting your ship.
Jesus stepped into the ship and the wind ceased. Ensure that Jesus is in the ship of your life, and no matter what happens, you will remain untouchable.
Pray With Me: Lord, the negative winds around me may beat my ship but won’t beat me; I am untouchable, in Jesus’ name!
