Gospel music quartet Midnight Crew released this song titled IGWE in 2006. Since then, Igwe has become an anthem of some sort around Africa and the world at large.
Igwe means King in Igbo language and this song is a mixture of some Igbo, Yoruba and English languages. In the song, the writer seeks to extol God has the king of the Univers and declared that there is no one like God.
About Midnight crew
The group is made up of Patricia, Mike, Olugbenga and Ayo. They were actually eleven in number when they started in 2011 but the quartet of Michael Abdul, Odunayo Ojo Onasanya, Pat Uwaje King and Gbenga Oyebola, known simply as the Midnight Crew have kept their wits about them for nothing else but for the love of what they do and enjoy doing.
