Deepak was a very fun-loving boy who sat next to me in class. He was short, rode a simple scooter but had a larger than life smile. He was unlike the others. He really brought the whole class together with his amazing sense of humor. As days passed by, we lost touch but we spoke occasionally as good friends. Then one day a news comes like a sudden alarm that he committed suicide.
It took some time to absorb that such a lively and hopeful youngster had taken his own life under the shackles of depression resulting from exam failure. Every year the increasing pass percentage of students answering exams looks very appalling but there is also another increasing statistics of suicide reports that goes unnoticed. We are moving towards a high profile and sophisticated, technologically future but in all this, are we failing to understand the true meaning valuing a human life?
Dear friend, you might be in that place where you’ve decided to switch off the lights of your life. Before you do so, take a moment to think of the impact that it has on your family and dear ones who might seem as if they don’t care anymore but in reality that’s not the truth! Dear reader, understand that the root cause of most suicides is not that love failure, depression or hopeless situation that you face today but the lie that makes you think there isn’t a better tomorrow! Might be you have tried over a thousand things to get rid of it but, Have you tried Jesus? Your life may be in ruins today and everything might seem hopeless, but just like the silver lining in the dark clouds, give your life to Jesus.
The song “Because He Lives I Can Face Tomorrow” was written by a couple who against all hopes and failures of life found their hope in God, who gave them this song which even today brings comfort to millions around the globe.
Because He lives all fear is gone,
Because I know that He holds my future,
And life is worth the living just because He Lives.” -Bill & Gloria Gaither
