Does it really need us to be a 7 feet tall, 6 pack super star who hit down the villains or a brilliant mind or a prolific speaker to make us a Hero? In real life being hero is not that difficult as it sounds. It’s all about a simple choice.
You can touch lives, bring smile on the faces of millions of cancer affected children going through chemo therapy, anaemic patients etc by just donating blood. Does that not make you a True Hero who saves lives.
Every year our nation requires about 5 crore units of blood, out of which only a mere 80 Lakh units of blood are available as every two seconds someone needs blood and there is no substitute for human blood. More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year out of which many will need blood during their chemotherapy treatment. A single car accident victim may require upto 100 units of blood. Donating blood is a safe process and a very benevolent act which takes less than 12 minutes. Less than 56 days is good enough for body to regenerate this blood.
Well now that everything has been said; what then should keep us from being a True Hero? Donate blood and Save life!
If you’ve ever visited someone in a hospital who has lost a lot of blood then you realise that they look pale and weak. But after they have received a blood transfusion they look much at rest. The donated blood has now given Life. There is one Hero who gave even his last drop of blood so that you and I could be Alive forever, in true peace and happiness. Give it a thought, there is unending life in the blood that has been fully shed out for us on the Cross!
