PEOPLE, the latest album of Australia based Christian worship music collective Hillsong United is still dominating the number one spot on the Top Christian Albums Chart. The album debuted at the summit of Billboard‘s Christian Albums chart May 11 with 107,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music.
With 101,000 copies sold, the set starts as the collective’s first No. 1 on Top Album Sales as the week’s top seller across all genres.
The group also achieves its biggest sales week, eclipsing the 47,000 that its 2012 set Empires sold in its first frame.
On the Billboard 200, People begins at No. 2, marking the ensemble’s highest rank and third top 10 on the all-genre multi-metric list. In this album is the hit song Good Grace with over 6 million youtube views and 8nmillion streams.
As part of the People album launch and kicking off a US tour, the Hillsong United team played for Good Morning America, the most-watched morning television show in the United States on April 22. They performed Good Grace.
“We’re with one of the biggest Christian bands in the world … with an estimated 50 million people who sing their songs in church every Sunday,” said host Cecelia Vega.
