We Believers, we have done a lot in order to upgrade our Spiritual capacity! We have done so much to increase our Physical Ego! But we pay little or no attention to the state of our beloved MINDS!
It takes Divine Transformation to operation at the right mind which will result in us having the spirit of Excellence.
Let’s conduct a little acid test; to know the state of our Mind.
Rom. 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
God opened my eyes to this scripture; that when my mind is transformed, I will begin to manifest the good, acceptable and perfect will of God!
God is simply saying that there’s a state of mind that can’t accommodate His good, acceptable and perfect will. So, to be able to walk in such dimension, such version of mind has to be upgraded in order to avoid wastage.
So what are the Indices of a Transformed Mind?
1. The Level of your Spiritual Illumination
This is having a clear and exact knowledge about the things of God. -Job. 29:1-10
Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;
3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness.
Vs 3: shows us that there is a kind of light that shines upon our head (Spiritual Insight) and another that shines upon our Path (Wisdom).
Then these lead Job to the deep things of God! in verse 4 he said:
As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
Then he began to list the exploit he commanded from verses 5 to 10.
Our possibilities in this kingdom is limited to the decree of our spiritual Illumination (Dan. 11:32).
God is not limited! It’s like trying to fetch water with a cup from a well; the quantity of water you fetch is directly proportional to the size of your cup! The well is ever ready to release, but we need to expand the size of our container to draw more.
Paul admonished us to carry the mind as that of Christ! Phil. 2:5. Because he (Christ) was never confused! Even when faced with 5,000 hungry multitudes, the Bible testifies that he always “ knew what to do” (Jhn. 6:6).
2. Virtue:
Virtue is simply a measure of our closeness to the character of Christ.
I have come to understand that as powerful as knowledge is, virtue supersedes it!
Apostle Joshua Selman once said “when knowledge and virtue run a Sprint, knowledge will win. But when knowledge and virtue run a marathon, virtue will win!” that means the only thing that will keep you going after gathering enough is virtue.
Cool.3:8-13
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
(This verse explain how we should come out of every tribal Behaviors “We are like that! That’s how we behave in our family! When am angry that’s how I behave” All these have to be kept aside!)
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Can someone look at me today and write more sermons with my life than my preaching?
Can someone look at me and write more sermon from my life than my books?
The Bible was not meant to be in our head! We were supposed to be the living epistle; a clear picture of who Christ is to the dying world!
And finally,
3. Love:
This is higher than knowledge and virtue
Paul in his sermon to the Corinthian church said:
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way. (1Cor. 12:31)
Then he unveiled to us what the more excellent way is:
1Cor 13:1-8
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed,,, the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself,, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Verse 8 Reveals why Love is so powerful; that love never fails!
That means, all my gift and talents couple together minus Love, am heading to failure!
We will not sustainably work in the power of God without the love of God in our hearts!
The anchor of your love shouldn’t be on what to gain, but rather, what to add.
We may have knowledge in abundance, we may have virtue, but until the love of God dwells in our hearts, our results will remain limited!
Ministry plus love = never fails!
Finance plus love = never fails!
Marriage plus love= never fails
Failure plus love = never fails
Jhn 13:34
34 A new commandment I give untoyou, That ye love one another; as I haveloved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye aremy disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Jesus said with this shall all men know that we are truly his disciples.
I pray that God should give us the grace to add to our lives Spiritual understanding, and then Character and then Love; so as to operate on earth as effective ambassadors of the Kingdom in Jesus name! Amen.
