Lets Get Sylvester Off The Streets – Wilson Joel

Award winning Nigerian gospel music producer Wilson Joel as joined the train of change makers as just like Frank Edwards is pushing a project to get Mr. Sylvester Idhegbo, a singer who sells gospel CD’s in traffic in the streets of Lagos.

A video of Sylvester singing to some of the songs on the CD’s he was selling in traffic gained a lot of traction. He was heard melodiously belting out Preye’s Ebezina while mechanizing. Wilson a man who has definitely made a difference in music production in Nigeria took an avid interest in the father of two and decided to lift him from the slumps of Ajagunle in Lagos.

Wilson Joel took to his Instagram page to raise awareness for Sylvester first to find him, then to help raise funds to help him relocate to a better nebourhood and also help him become a professional music artist.

“Actually, I NEED US to help this man! His name is Sylvester and I finally found him with the help of @enocharles30 Thank you so much, 1. I’ll record his songs & write some for him too. Will really try to get his sound & make it different (we are in studio from this new week), 2. Will push these songs & have them everywhere for sale. Please buy when you see it, 3. I need some media attention for him, 4. I need some of us to help him financially or set him up to get his life off the streets (Still thinking of a Gofundme account). 5. ☝️ DM me if you’ll like to give towards this man, let’s make life beautiful for him. Let him know God is real through your act of kindness”. In another post, “I also do not mind a BIG RECORD label signing him up. We also need a job for his agile young wife less than 30yrs of age, his 2 kids will be glad to not see their father on the streets.

This of course raised a lot of attention and people have been pulling in with funds and clothing items for Sylvester and his family. The projected fund to be raised was 1illion naira and according to Wilson Joel they have raised N532, 000 BETWEEN SATURDAY AND TODAY!.
