Movie Review: AN INTERVIEW WITH GOD 1

What would you ask God if you had the opportunity? An interview with God will help you answer some of the questions you may have asked.

An Interview with God is a 2018, 97 minutes drama film directed by Perry Lang and written by Ken Aguado. The film stars David Strathairn, Brenton Thwaites, Yael Grobglas, Hill Harper and Charlbi Dean.

An Interview with God as it name indicates, is a series of interviews between the main actor (Paul) and a man who claims to be God. Paul Asher after returning from covering news in Afghanistan,  finds himself interviewing a middled aged man who claims he is God.

Paul during this period is facing relationship crises with his partner who desires to get a divorce because of her infidelity while he was away.

During these interviews, mystical events occur and we see Paul battling with his inner self as his interviewee puts to the table issues that stirs up his believe and convictions. Paul wonders why after all the good deeds he has done, why will he be facing challenges he is in, and wonders if God exists while will be allowing bad things to happen to good people.

In the course of the movie, we notice strong support from Paul’s friend and his partner’s sister who are there to console and encourage him while he goes through this crises, making us the viewers see the importance of friendship and family support.

An interview with God shows us that the things we thought were bad was actually a stepping stone used by God to bless us and show Himself in our lifes for His glory. It also makes us realise that we should let go of guilt, we can rely on friends and family and above all God is always there for us no matter our circumstances.
