Nigerian Ibadan-based Gospel singer-songwriter John Olumayowa comes forth with a timely new inspirational tune titled “RISE UP”.
For his brand new single “Rise Up” John Olumayowa says
“On a fine Saturday morning, I was led to read Isaiah 60:1. The same passage where I got inspired to write my song “LET IT SHINE” which featured in my album “EFFULGENCE”.
The passage made me recall my hard times, my state of hopelessness, and how God’s Superior power rose me up, set me on my feet, and settle me according to 1Pt5:10
The release of this song during this crucial time in Nigeria is to give hope to Nigerian youths who are hoping for a better Nigeria.
Also for anyone facing one personal problem or the other. If there’s ever been a time Nigerians need soothing worship with a message of hope because of despair it is now.
In these past weeks especially with the Nigerian youths, things have gone from hopeful during the days of the peaceful protest to gloomy which took a very dangerous turn after the killings of innocent Nigerian youths at Lekki, an incident which is now infamously known as the “Lekki Massacre”.
The event followed wanton destruction and vandalization of both public and private properties.
‘Rise Up’ produced by ADOOC is definitely a song for the moment capturing the restoration power of God in a soothing delivery from John Olumawoya with beautiful harmonies which has now become part of his music.
As we listen to Rise Up we pray the situation we find ourselves as a nation never repeats itself and for God to take us from this place to a higher place.

By anointing every yoke is broken
Every strange power should be silent

In the name of Jesus you are healed
By His power I declare you healed

Right on the battle we ain’t tired
We ain’t giving up
