Rhapsody of Realities: Beyond Religion

Rhapsody of Realities

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Being a Christian is much more than reading the Bible  and  praying  to  God;  it’s  living  the transcendent life, the God-life, here on earth. This is beyond religion. Those who don’t know what Christianity is call it a religion.

What the Bible refers to as religion is found in James 1:27: “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” Christianity, by its very nature and definition is heaven alive in you, divinity at work in humanity.

The Christian is by all means a superman. He’s one with whom anything is possible, because he has the life and nature of God; He has authority over all the powers of darkness. Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” He was referring to the believing ones: Christians.

Then in Luke 10:19, He said “…nothing shall by any means hurt you!” It doesn’t matter how harmful, poisonous or evil that thing is, it doesn’t have the power to hurt you. You’re not ordinary. You’re not of this world. You’re of God, which means your origin is in God; you’re born of Him. This is Christianity. Eternal life has been imparted to your spirit; you’ve received the life of God that dispels darkness,

sickness, disease, poverty, failure and death. You’ve become an associate of the God-kind. This is beyond religion.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the working of your Word in my spirit. My life is the expression of your glory, beauty, and grace. You’ve made me a life-giver, an associate of the God-kind, manifesting the divine life to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
