“And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,” (Luke 5: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
The net breaking miracle that came to Peter happened at a place called the lake of Gennesaret. The Lake of Gennesaret was the reason why Gennesaret was called a Paradise of Riches. According to Bible History, the Lake flowed into the land of Gennesaret and made the land fertile. Lakes are meant to be stagnant, with water that cannot flow; but the Lake of Gennesaret did more than a Lake should do.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to do more than your name. You will do more than your status/profile suggests you can do. You will do more than men expect from you. You are about to exceed the expectations that circumstances placed on you. You are about to break out of the limits that men set for you. You are about to be more and do more.
Today, I prophesy into your life: your family will do more than your name; your career will do more than its name; your business will do more than its name; you will do more than the label that men put on you; you will do more than the assessment of men concerning you; you will do more than the targets that men have set for you; you will do more than the calculations and projections you have made for yourself.
If the Lake of Gennesaret could eventually flow, beyond the job description of a Lake, then you will do more than is expected of you. If the Lake of Gennesaret could eventually be called the Sea of Tiberias, then you can become more than you ever imagined. The God who redeemed you did not redeem you so that you can remain small; Jesus redeemed you so that you can be more, and have dominion.
If life ever gives you an opportunity to be more, don’t be less. If life gives you an opportunity to do more, don’t do less.
Isaiah 60: 22 says: “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”
Declare With Me: I will do more, in Jesus’ name!
