“And I said unto the king… that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.” (Nehemiah 2: 5)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Nehemiah requested from the king that he be allowed to go and build the city of Judah, which had been in ruins. The word ‘build’ as used in that scripture comes from the Hebrew word ‘banah’ (pronounced ‘baw naw’). One of the meanings of ‘banah’ is to ‘rebuild’. So Nehemiah requested to go and rebuild what was destroyed. He elected to go and rebuild the city of God which was in ruins.
The word rebuild would suggest that what was to be rebuilt was once good, before it went down and needed a rebuilding. So Nehemiah’s mission was to go and rebuild what was once good. His mission was to rebuild the city that was once thriving before it became ruined by adversaries. Nehemiah’s mission was to take steps that would restore what was once in order. His mission was a mission of restoration.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: whatsoever was once good in your life but is now in ruins, I call forth a divine repair. For every life that is currently in ruins, receive a divine repair. For every relationship with God that has been ruined by sin, receive a divine repair. For every prayer altar that is broken down, receive a fresh awakening. For every skill, vision, family, marriage, health, ministry, finance, etc in ruins, receive divine repairs.
God knows why there are ruins in whatever area of your life that may be affected. He knows the missing link. He knows the weak areas. He knows where you need help and how you need it; and today, I call forth your divine repairs. May the hand of the Lord cause repairs to be effected amidst your ruins. May the hand of God cause your waste places to be rebuilt.
Those who think you are finished should get set for major surprises. God is causing a major rebuilding in your life.
Isaiah 58: 12 says: “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”
Declare With Me: I receive divine repairs for everything in my life that is in ruins, in Jesus’ name!
