On a rainy Tuesday morning in Lagos, while most are struggling through traffic and others are cuddled up with a cup of tea and a book at home, Laurie Idahosa was in deep thoughts and has a lot to share on the act of learning to ask for help, how to go about it, and who exactly are we asking. she took to her Instagram page to share her thoughts.
“Those few words can be all you need to say, in order to get assistance from every side. The problem that we have is that many of us are too prideful or shameful to ask for help. .
Have you ever sat in a classroom utterly confused at what the lecturer is saying? We have all been there. Sitting and listening with our ears while nothing is making sense to our hearts and minds.
Then, one brave colleague of yours lifts his hand and asks for help and clarification. There is a sigh of relief all across the room because many people were confused, but, one person had the courage to ask for help. The help that came to him covered his classmates and everyone understood the subject more clearly.
.
When you seek help, you are saving yourself and others. Don’t try to go through this life without support and assistance. We were created to help one another. Hebrews 13:6 says, “So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
.
When we allow God to help us we are unbeatable!
.
He is always there to help. Psalm 46:1 says, “…God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
.
Help is available. No matter what you are facing, big or small, you don’t have to face it alone. Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”
.
My prayer for you is that you will learn to call on the name of the Lord when in trouble. .
Recently, I have been overcoming a health opportunity. I was in physical pain and instinctively when the pain was at its height, before I even knew what I was saying, I shouted out “JESUS!” A lady who was next to me (a complete stranger) answered me and said, “Baby, that’s the only name you can call that can actually help you.” ? I was a bit embarrassed that my call for help was so loud that others could hear but … my goodness was she right!
When he answers our cries for help, He delivers us from trouble. Hallelujah!!!” Laurie Idahosa.
