“And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times,
and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.”
(2 Kings 5: 10)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Elisha instructed Naaman to wash himself in Jordan seven times, after which he would
be healed. Naaman’s healing was packaged in form of an instruction. The divine
instruction from Elisha led to Naaman’s miracle. The divine instruction from Elisha
took Naaman to his next level and miracle.
Friend, your next level is tied to your obedience to divine instructions. Your
promotion is tied to your obedience to divine principles. Things may not turn around
for good in your life until you heed and obey God’s word. You may not step into the
higher realms God has ordained for you until you begin to pay attention to God’s
word and God’s commands. The pathway of obedience to God’s instruction is connected
to your next level.
Naaman didn’t do anything extraordinary; he only obeyed Elisha’s instruction and he
was healed. When you obey God’s instructions, your negligible efforts will bring
huge, resounding results. When you walk the path of obedience to God, even the
things that don’t give other people results will give you results. Obedience is the
pathway to your next level.
If you live in disobedience to God, you are setting up yourself for a fruitless
life. If you care less about obeying God’s word concerning your life, don’t feel bad
if God begins to care less about making His promises a reality in your life. Your
disobedience to God’s word will frustrate God in your life.
Obedience to God’s instruction took Naaman out of the shame and pain of leprosy. As
you obey God, and obey God’s word, get set: you shall step into higher realms with
huge results.
