News broke out in the early hours of today that someone had set up false social media accounts claiming to be Gospel Music Sensation – Frank Edwards and collecting money for tickets for much anticipated Under the Canopy video premiere taking place on the 28th January at Genesis Delux cinemas Palms Shopping mall Lekki.
The impostor had posted on the fake social media pages that tickets for the premiere are on sale but he is willing to subsidize it for some lucky people that can pay thirty thousand Naira into a designated account, he will add the remaining twenty thousand Naira and send the ticket to them. This trick worked on some people as the sent money to the designated accounts.
to get the contacts, the impostor whom Truecaller identified as Bonnyface got the phone number of his victims by telling them on the fake social media pages he created to impersonate Frank Edwards that they should send him their phone numbers so that he can create a Frank Edwards fan group on Whatsapp.
On receipt of this new, the very upset Frank Edwards stated on his Instagram account – ” Here is my prayer to whoever did this in the mighty name of Jesus, everyone you have stolen from. Their sicknesses has become your sickness. Their lack is now your inheritance. Their pain is double yours. Nothing will work for you this year if you do not repent and return them in Jesus name, how can you be stealing from innocent people? ”
