And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
(Luke 17: 13)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
The ten lepers in our Focal Scripture asked Jesus for mercy. The Hebrew word that explains mercy is ‘chanah’, which means ‘to stoop in kindness to an inferior’. So those lepers were simply asking Jesus to come as their superior and stoop in kindness to them.
Friend, when you ask God for mercy, you are simply asking Him to stoop in kindness to you, and you are simply invoking that part of Jesus that made Him accept to die for people He created. When you cry to God for mercy, you are simply asking Him to become a servant in your destiny.
Today, ask God to stoop in kindness and serve your destiny. Ask God to make arrangements for greater things to happen in your life. Ask God to open new doors for you. Ask God for big opportunities and destiny helpers. Ask God to take you to where He wants you to be. Ask God to show you kindness in areas where life has been unkind to you.
The ten lepers asked for mercy and they got healed. Their healing came through mercy. They may not have deserved it but it came through mercy. You may not deserve the things you desire, but God says, it will come through mercy.
When Jehovah is involved, mercy will push the resources of heaven into action to work for your good. Mercy will cause God to stoop and serve you.
Pray With Me: Lord, stoop in kindness to me, in Jesus’ name!
