Nigerian gospel artist and minister, the amazing Mercy Chinwo, was recently recognized with an award for her contribution to gospel music. Just yesterday, it was made public through her Instagram page that she was awarded with the “INTERNATIONAL ARTISTE OF THE YEAR” award by The Sterling Gospel Music Awards.
Mercy Chinwo has taken the gospel music scene by storm with her sonorous and powerful vocals which always instantly create a great atmosphere of worship and send listeners into depths of true worship. She has released a variety of powerful gospel songs some of which are considered “anthems” of which Excess Love is a perfect example.
She has shared some big stages with some international gospel acts and had her hit song Excess Love remixed and performed live on stage with JJ Hairston. She also toured the US on her ENJOY JESUS EXCESS LOVE TOUR in July 2019 and so it is no wonder that her music has international appeal.
Mercy Chinwo has also received gospel awards prior to this. Her first one was the Best Gospel Artist at the 2018 CLIMAX awards, and she has also received music awards at the Africa Gospel Awards Festival in 2019.
