“21. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. 22. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side…”
-Matthew 14: 21-22
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture speaks of when Jesus fed the five thousand men, besides women and children. Jesus performed an amazing miracle that multitudes benefited from; He achieved something worth celebrating.
After feeding the multitude, Jesus put His disciples in a ship and left the scene of the miracle. He didn’t sit back to glory in His latest achievement; He moved on immediately. He had more miracles to perform, He had other things to achieve, and He moved on immediately.
Friend, God may have done mighty things for you, you may have achieved mighty things this year, your achievements may be worth celebrating, your testimonies may be resounding, you may have achieved more than you planned to achieve this year, but God says, move on from your miracle.
Move on from the things God has given you; move on to fresh achievements; move on to higher levels; press on and focus on new targets; go beyond what you have accomplished and focus on what you need to accomplish.
It’s okay to be grateful to God for your miracles, achievements, testimonies, breakthroughs, open doors, etc but God expects you to desire more.
Don’t let your past and current achievements be the cage that will stop you from future achievements. Celebrate what God has done, but move on!
Philippians 3 vs. 13-14 says: “…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Pray With Me: Lord, I choose to move on from every achievement You have brought my way, in Jesus’ name!
