Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his
master, and honorable…he was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper. (2
Kings 5: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When Naaman met Elisha and was instructed to wash in River Jordan for seven times,
he obeyed and was healed. Naaman did not get healed because he heard Elishas
instruction; he got healed when he acted on the prophetic word he got from Elisha.
Naaman acted on the word.
Friend, its not enough to hear God’s word; God says, act on the word you hear.
Conform to the new, positive knowledge you have gained over time. Walk in line with
the new things you have learnt. If you have gained new knowledge about God and what
He expects from you, act on it. If you have heard Gods instruction on consecration,
holiness and righteousness, act on it. If you have learnt obedience, act on it.
Its not enough to act on the new knowledge you have gained about God; also act on
the new knowledge you have gained about your career, business, finances, academics,
etc. Implement those new ideas that will transform your career and push your
business to the next level. Implement the knowledge that will improve your finances;
conform to any positive knowledge that will take you higher.
Knowledge is good enough but it is not enough. If your knowledge has not led to a
change in behavior and lifestyle, you have not learnt anything. If you gain
knowledge without acting on the knowledge you gained, you might become a redundant
knowledge dump meddling with mediocrity.
Act on Gods word, act on the knowledge you have gained and God will transit you to
the next level.
James 1 vs. 22 says: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves.
Pray With Me: Lord, give me wisdom to always act on Your word and on the knowledge
I’ve gained, in Jesus name!
