But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves…
(Matthew 14: 24)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is noteworthy that Jesus disciples were sailing on the sea of Tiberias, which was also called the Lake of Gennesaret (see John 6). A lake is stagnant water. Ordinarily, its easier to move in clean water than in stagnant water. The water was stagnant but Jesus disciples sailed on; they sailed despite stagnant waters.
Friend, hear Gods prophetic word: you will sail on even if the waters around you are stagnant. You will make progress even if your environment says no! Your business will blossom even if the economy is comatose; your career will make progress even if other people are caught in the web of career stagnation. You will move despite whatever wants to stagnate you in your environment.
In Genesis 26, Isaac sowed in a land where there was famine; in that same year, he reaped a hundred fold. The famine didn’t stop his productivity; the unfavourable weather didn’t cause his seed to die; his seed was empowered to prosper, and not even a famine could stop the prosperity.
You belong to the Isaac generation that sows in famine and reaps a hundred fold. You belong to a generation whose supply doesn’t run dry even if everything is dry. The economy can’t stop you; the policies of men can’t stop you; the failures of leaders can’t stop you. Your increase is not dependent on what happens around you; it depends on God and you.
Pay less attention to the stagnant seas around you and focus more on God who can prosper you against all odds. Your common wealth is in heaven. Your prosperity is not of this world; your progress is unstoppable.
Job 22 vs. 29 says: When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up…
Pray With Me: Lord, even if others are stagnated, I will keep moving, I’m unstoppable, in Jesus name!
