“And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed”
-Luke 17: 14
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus told the lepers to go and show themselves to the priest. They were not healed yet, their skins were still scarred by leprosy, their circumstances were yet to change, but Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests.
The priests were based in the city; lepers weren’t allowed in the city, but Jesus ordered the lepers to go into the city. He commanded them to act as if things had become normal. He commanded them to act as if their problems had ended.
Friend, God says, act as if things have returned to normal. Drop your garment of shame and mourning even if your circumstances are yet to change. Don’t bow to that sickness; don’t lose your smiles because of unresolved challenges; don’t pay too much attention to your problems and forget to live a profound life.
Bring back your smiles, confidence, self-esteem, poise, etc. Keep your head high even if the challenges that kept your head low have not all given way. Live as if your miracles are real already.
As they went into the city, the lepers were healed. They started to live a normal life, and things returned to normal. If you keep your head high and live a normal life despite your challenges, soon, your challenges will give way.
Psalm 3 vs. 3 says: “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head”.
Pray With Me: Lord, I choose to keep my head high and live a normal life despite my challenges, in Jesus’ name!
