“But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.” (Matthew 14: 24)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When the ship conveying Jesus’ disciples was tossed about in the middle of the sea, it wasn’t because the ship had issues. The ship was functional but a contrary wind opposed its movement. The wind and waves did not arise from within the ship; they were external elements that came to trouble the ship.
There are external elements that trouble our ship. Some haters spread wicked gossip just to harm us; sometimes, economic issues cause a ripple effect on us; some policies negatively affect our finances, careers, ministries, etc. Sometimes, forces of darkness cause problems where there was none initially.
Friend, arise in warfare prayers against every external element that wants to truncate your destiny. Wage war against every satanic force operating against you; pray against every monitoring spirit that wants to replicate past negativity in your life; pray against territorial spirits that want to hurt you in your location; pray against every external force that is tossing the ship of your destiny.
Jesus was not in the ship when the contrary wind began to toss the ship around, but when He stepped into the ship, the wind ceased. The absence of Jesus from your life is an open door for the presence of enemies, satanic forces, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, etc that want to truncate your destiny and put you out of circulation.
The external force that came against the ship bowed to Jesus. Every external force that wants to truncate your destiny will bow to Jesus.
Isaiah 59 vs. 19 says: “…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”
