SERVE THE LORD
And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
(Luke 5: 3)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
After a long night of toiling without results, Peter made his ship available for Jesus to preach to the multitude. Peter was yet to achieve the results he set out to achieve, he was yet to hit his target, he was yet to be satisfied by Jesus, he was still empty handed, and he got busy with serving Jesus. Despite his dissatisfaction, Peter served Jesus.
Friend, you may not have got all you want, your prayers may not yet be answered, your breakthroughs may not have become a reality, your next level may yet be a mirage in your own eyes, your success may yet be far fetched, you may indeed be far away from the goals you set for yourself, but as you wait for God to smile on you, serve God.
Serve God even if there is no money in your pocket or bank account; serve God even if there is no food on your table; serve God even if there is no hope for your achievements yet; serve God even if men have disappointed you; serve God despite your failure; serve God even if you think He is yet to remember you for good. While your desires are pending, discover a divine purpose and fulfill it.
The same ship that carried Jesus carried a large haul of fish. After serving Jesus interest, Jesus served Peters interest. The things you desire would become reality more easily if you dare to serve God while you are still empty handed.
Dont allow the things you are yet to achieve to stop you from serving Jesus with all of your heart. You will still be the biggest loser if you fail to serve God. Serve God despite what you dont have, and He will cause you to achieve what you want to achieve.
Pray With Me: Lord, I choose to serve You despite what I am yet to achieve, in Jesus name!
