GROW IN THE Spirit : Streams of Joy daily devotional

GROW IN THE SPIRIT

“And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, …at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,”
(Mark 11: 1)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, as Jesus and His disciples came near Jerusalem, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples to go untie and bring a colt that He would later ride on into Jerusalem. Jesus got to Mount Olives, and gave a new assignment to two of His disciples.

A mountain is a higher height. So the disciples arrived on a higher height before Jesus gave them a fresh assignment. They stepped unto higher grounds before Jesus could trust them with a sensitive mission.

Friend, sometimes, your spiritual height determines the assignments God can trust you with. The progress you make in your relationship with God is a major factor that allows God to push you to the path of distinction. Your depth in God will determine how useful you are to God. Your depth in prayers, consecration, God’s word, and other spiritual issues may determine your Exceeding Expansion.

Your spiritual depth is beyond what men think of you; it’s who you really are in God’s sight. In Old Testament times, dwarfs were not allowed to be priests or serve in the temple (see Leviticus 21 vs. 20).

You do yourself no favour if you remain a dwarf in your walk with God. God may not grant you the Exceeding Expansion He has planned for you if you remain a spiritual dwarf- prayerless, inconsistent, indisciplined, sinful, and stuck in weaknesses that have limited you.

Grow up; get deeper in your walk with God; grow out of your weaknesses; dig deeper into God’s Word; seek to be in the Holy of Holies, where God would unveil Himself to you.

Hebrews 5: 14 says: “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Pray With Me: Lord, help me to grow in You, in Jesus’ name!
