CHEER UP

“And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.”
(1 Samuel 1: 18)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Prior to our Focal Scripture, because of the repeated attacks from Peninnah, Hannah repeatedly didn’t eat from her portion of the sacrifice (see vs. 7). Hannah failed to eat what she should eat because of Peninnah; she was reacting to Peninnah’s antics; she allowed her situation (Peninnah) to dictate her pace.

Friend, God says, don’t let your circumstances dictate your pace. Don’t let your pain and setbacks determine when you should wear a smile on your face; don’t allow the fact that some of your prayers are not yet answered to push you into frustration and depression; don’t allow whatever bad news you hear in the airwaves to steal your joy; don’t allow whatever has happened to you to steal your joy, peace, confidence, etc.

The fact that Hannah refused to eat did not change her situation, and it didn’t even make her adversary to stop taunting her. When you allow your situation to dictate your pace, your wrong moves will make no difference. When you allow your situation to depress or confuse you, the depression or confusion won’t take you anywhere, https://buyzolpideminsomnia.com.

Hannah later met Eli, and she cheered up and ate, and her countenance was no longer sad. Peninnah made her sad in the past, but the moment she refused to be sad anymore, the next thing that happened was that she conceived and had a son. Your next level may never come if you keep allowing your current situation to dictate your pace.

When the situation dictated Hannah’s pace, she was empty handed; but when she stopped allowing her situation to dictate her pace, her situation changed. Don’t allow your situation to dictate your pace, and you will rise above it.

Pray With Me: Lord, my situation will not dictate the pace of my destiny, in Jesus’ name!
