So here I am looking out for gospel entertainment news and christian entertainment stories and guess what i bumped into? a story about Lady Gaga defending her catholic faith and i was like, Lady Gaga catholic ?!
From what I read from the Gospelherald, it all started when she posted a picture of herself and father John Duffel of Blessed Sacrament Church and captioned it thus ;
“I was so moved today when you said, ‘The Eucharist is not a prize for the perfect but the food that God gives us.’ – Father Duffell, Blessed Sacrament Church. Nourishment,”
Not long after Gaga’s online posting, A culture website CatholicLink published an article titled “From Lady Gaga to Steph Curry: 5 Things to Remember When Celebrities Share Their Faith.” The piece praised NBA star Steph Curry for his outspoken faith, but added, “Many celebrities are sharing Bible verses, quoting priests, and singing Christian music while at the same time still leading a typical Hollywood lifestyle void of Christian values such as modesty and purity.”
The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, felt bad that the website should post such an article because she was vocal about her faith. You can read the rest of the story on gospelherald.
Well I was awestruck that a person like Gaga who has been allegedly associated with all illuminati and all kinds of ‘satanic’ symbolism in her videos even believes in God in the first place. I mean she has been called all kind of name; satan worshipper, queen of illuminati, etc. And you need to see the effect her post made on her followers. One Luke M Bonnici commented on her Facebook page that he hadn’t had the Eucharist in years because he felt unclean. “Your message has just changed the way I feel about myself and life, God bless.”
When celebrities talk about Jesus, it has alot of effect and i guess we need more of it. But i would have liked Gaga Born again a little bit more though and like Catholiclink right said, Pray for them…Me add ”Always”.
