(DONT MISS OUT) EXCITING PANEL TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF SHOW BUSINESS

Show business

The conversation will revolve around The Future of Show Business in Nigeria and why Nigeria’s entertainment industry has to be hybrid and how artists and content creators can create new revenue streams.

Branding agency SAG ORUME Brand Consortium, global experts in Personal Branding through its flagship event: SAG ORUME 3rilogy is hosting a panel discussion on the future of show business, an industry faced with tremendous challenges. For more than a decade the music, movie and entertainment industry has attributed a massive decline in sales to piracy, downloading has stifled the commercial facet of things, while Covid-19 is threatening to wipe out live music shows. When the industry fully recovers from the pandemic, should it and can it be business as usual?

The three-hour event, titled ‘The Future of Show Business’, slated for Saturday 30 October 2021 from 9 am to 12noon will bring together a number of industry stakeholders, from record labels to promoters, musicians, entertainment journalists, bloggers, dancers, comedians, poets, writers, sponsors, managers and music/content marketing specialists. The panel will explore how artists, content creators and curators must find new ways to engage with audiences, activate new revenue streams and also examine current challenges and opportunities in the arts and entertainment industry, and common success traits and pitfalls.

Perry Martins, CEO of Yivera will host five industry heads to two interactive panel discussions. The first session will take an in-depth look at content streaming and merchandising, examining how to use live and recorded content to drive hybrid experiences, why streaming does not necessarily equal success and how to create a memorable and shareable music experience in a hybrid environment.

The second session will examine the digital issues affecting the music industry, such as music’s potential, the crypto boom, the future of show business and the impact on copyright. It will focus on how to retain ownership of tracks, mixes or other forms of content whilst still encouraging people to download and share, and what this means for content curators, musicians, established names and newcomers.

Panelists include;

Tosin Martins: Artist and Entertainment Lawyer

Sammy Walsh: MTV Base VJ and Award Winning TV Presenter

Godwin Tom: Artist Manager and Founder, iManage Africa

Olagundoye ‘Chopstix’ Malcom: 62nd Grammy Nominee, Record Producer

Fred Allison: Media Entrepreneur and Founder, Truedis Media

The second-panel session, titled The Art of Art will feature budding and leading Nigerian and Pan-African artists showcasing their paintings and sculptors while telling the stories and inspiration behind each showpiece as well as the challenges and opportunities in the arts industry.

Panellists include;

  • Bede Umeh
  • Uchemadu Ukaukwu
  • Oghenetega
  • Pokpobe
  • Adewale Uthman
  • Ewetan Eyituoyomi

It will also feature counselling sessions, networking and special question-and-answer segments with the panellists.

According to SAG ORUME, Creative Lead at SAG ORUME Brand Consortium and Publisher of SO Inspired Magazine, “The Colloquium aims to leverage arts as a tool and entertainment as a platform to revive Nigeria’s image locally and internationally while encouraging young people to turn their talents into thriving businesses and themselves into exceptional brands as part of its ongoing vision in repositioning the youths as agents of change and catalysts for entrepreneurial revolution in Nigeria.

And this year’s promises to be exceptional”.
