“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5: 5)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Peter told Jesus that he had toiled all night and caught nothing. The efforts that Peter made were made in an environment of darkness, and he caught nothing. To toil is to work extremely hard; toiling is suggestive of exhausting physical labour. So Peter labored to the point of exhaustion, but his labour was covered with darkness, and it brought no results. Peter labored under the cover of darkness.
Friend, when there is darkness, there is toiling. When there is darkness, the grounds that ought to have yielded results may leave you empty handed. When the enemy projects darkness on the works of your hands, things that ought to work for you may end up working against you, efforts that should yield positive results may end up yielding troubles for you, and grounds that have what it takes to yield may not even yield at all.
The devil is the master of darkness, and when he positions darkness over your labour, you will do all that you should do to get results, but you just might end up empty handed. Today, I decree, every hardwork without results is terminated by the fire of God. Every cycle of fruitless efforts is broken. Every plot of the enemy to cover your efforts with darkness, is broken. Every spiritual opposition to your efforts and results, is broken.
Today, every power of darkness that is limiting your advancement and productivity, I command it to be crushed by the power of God. Every darkness that is stopping you on your way, let the fire of God consume it. Let the fire of God consume and disperse every darkness that has come against your career, business, health, finances, ministry, marriage, children, etc. Let the power of darkness over you be broken.
No more shall your efforts breed pain and struggles. No more shall the power of darkness prevail over the works of your hands.
Isaiah 59: 19 says: “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”
Declare With Me: Darkness will not prevail over my efforts; no more darkness, in Jesus’ name!
