EXODUS TO MEGA-STARDOM BEGINS…
The time has come again for the “kingmakers” (fans and admirers) to exercise their power to influence the trends of Nigerian music. ‘
The screening process of Nigeria’s prestigious Music & Entertainment Gospel Awards, MEGA has gone up another notch as we gallop towards the finale on Friday, November 20, 2015 for the Awards Night showpiece.
After energy-draining ten weeks of reviewing and screening, the National Nomination Committee in association with the Body of Judges has fixed the date for the release of the Pre-Nomination list for the MEGA 2015 ceremonies. In 26 categories, the pre-nominated works can be voted for by members of the Nigerian public on different platforms controlled by the organisers. This national “open-ballot” Public Voting (PV) is scheduled to start from Saturday, October 10, 2015.
From the thousands of songs submitted earlier in the year, this stage of the awards shall focus on 39 CDs (for album and medley categories); and 86 singles. The breakdown of the Public Voting (PV) listing shows that there are eight (8) categories for Singles; three (3) for medleys; six (6) for “Solo Performances”; two (2) Specials and seven (7) main categories. It is hoped that fans of Nigerian gospel music will embrace the moment and vote massively for their favourites. The PV gives the fans a 10% chance of influencing the Screeners/Judges’ final decisions.
