MATTHEW WEST WINS SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR

Combustion Music congratulates American Christian music artist, Matthew West on winning Christian Songwriter of the Year at this year’s ASCAP Christian Awards.

This marks the sixth time West has taken home the top honor. West was also awarded this year’s Song of the Year for “Nobody” from Casting Crowns featuring Matthew West. West and co-writer AJ Pruis were awarded for Top Performing Song, “The God Who Stays”.

West’s current single, “Truth Be Told”, is climbing the charts and sits at #15. West is a co-writer on an additional four singles on the Christian Charts; “Keep Me In The Moment” by Jeremy Camp (4-week #1) #5, “Start Right Here” – Casting Crowns #18, “Truth I’m Standing On” – Leanna Crawford #20, and “Moving On” – Love & The Outcome #36.

Joining in celebrating with Matthew West on the occasion were Combustion Music VP Chris Van Belkom, AJ Pruis, Matthew West, Combustion Music President Chris Farren, Combustion Music’s Kelly Lyons.
