NBA Star Stephen Curry to release Footwear with inscribed scriptures

Perhaps no other active Sports persona puts his Faith front and center like Stephen Curry does. The Christian, Golden State Warriors point guard, was officially named MVP of the 2014-2015 NBA season and made sure that his faith was at the forefront of his acceptance speech.

At just 27, this young man gives the christian community something to celebrate especially at a time when being Christian is increasingly being uncool. Asides from being one of Christian hip-hop’s most supportive professional athletes, He also has a shoe line  influenced by his faith in partnership with Under Armour.

In February, Under Armour released the Curry One (foot wear), which featured the tagline “Charged By Belief” and 4:13 on the tongue, a nod to Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Curry won an MVP award and NBA championship wearing Curry One’s, and this week, Under Armour announced plans for his latest shoe. The Curry Two will release in China on Sept. 6, Japan and the Philippines on Sept. 7, and globally on Oct. 24, according to Champs Sports.

The slogan for the Curry Two is “Iron Sharpens Iron,” a Biblical reference even more obvious than the previous. Proverbs 27:17 reads, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

Beyond being an NBA star, Steph Curry as he is widely known is what we like to call a Minister in the Market place. It is such individuals who are so good and have become successful at what they do that hold the perhaps the best approach to soul winning.

In a recent acceptance speech while receiving the NBA MVP awards, Curry said:

“Sometimes people make it seem like you have to have certain prerequisites or a crazy life story in order to be successful in this world. But the truth is you really don’t,” Curry said. “It doesn’t matter where you come from, what you have or don’t have, what you lack or what you have too much of, but all you need to have is faith in God, an undying passion for what you do and what you choose to do in this life, and a relentless drive and the will to do whatever it takes to be successful in whatever you put your mind to.”
