STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL – REWARDS FOR TIME

“And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.” (Nehemiah 2: 6)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Nehemiah appeared before the king, he set a time within which he would journey to Judah for the rebuilding of the city. The word ‘set’ as used in that scripture comes from the Hebrew word ‘nathan’. Another meaning of ‘nathan’ is ‘reward’. So when he set a time for the king, he was also demanding that time should get a reward. He was speaking of reward when he set a time. He placed a demand for reward as he set a time.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: this is the season of your reward. For every time you have spent in the service of the Lord, you will be rewarded. For every time you have spent making efforts, you will get a reward. For every time you have spent waiting for the intervention of heaven, there will be a reward. For every time you have spent believing and trusting God, there will be a reward. Your time will be rewarded.

Some people may have been content to live as servants who will never be rewarded, but Nehemiah got a chance to speak to the king, and he demanded for a reward for his time. He seemed to use his words to appoint a reward for time. Speak into your time and appoint results that will come forth in the process of time. Call forth the results that should accompany your time. Call forth the fruitfulness that your time should enjoy.

Men with understanding use their words to appoint rewards for their time. Men with understanding know that time cannot pass by and leave them empty handed. Men with understanding know that time must work for them and pay them handsomely. Men with understanding know that time must reward them for every second spent. Men with understanding demand huge rewards from time.

Don’t allow your time to pass by and leave you empty handed. Demand rewards for your time. Appoint a reward for your time.

Job 36: 11 says: “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

Declare With Me: My time shall be hugely rewarded, in Jesus’ name!
