I am not convinced that a New Testament believer should be paying tithe – Kenny Kore

TITHE has been many things in the Bible , from Abraham’s free will offering offered to Melchizedek, to forming one of the tenets of the Levitical priesthood laws,
and you can also throw Jacob’s bargain with GOD into the mix.- Genesis 28:20-22.

I have observed that ten Christians could be talking about tithes and not necessarily be saying the same thing, or referencing the same scriptural precedence .

And lately I’m concerned because I’m beginning to think the AMBIGUITY on this subject is allowed to thrive DELIBERATELY.

I am not convinced that a New Testament believer should be paying tithe.
I also dont think it is right for a New Testament believer to be giving free will offering of 10% or any amount he or she chooses and be calling it tithe.
Simply because tithe means more than one thing to people.

Some churches even demand first fruit offering, while others don’t, which further butress my concern as to why we let selective indoctrination divide a people who Jesus wants to be united as He and His FATHER are one.

The Apostles never taught tithing , they practiced free will offering.
Jesus also extensively taught on giving (especially to the poor, sick, orphans, strangers etc) ,
and as regards when and how Jesus made the OT law which includes, but is not limited to circumcision, animal sacrifices, and tithes obsolete? ,

It is when He gave us the New Law. This is now the whole law;
“Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
-Mark 12:30-31.

You may conjecture what you may about my motive, but as it regards the TRUTH which i stand for ,
The only constrain that followers of Jesus the Christ have today, is the constrain to love.
If we love GOD , we would willingly give to GOD,
If we love our neighbors, (which include temple workers, widows, needy, strangers etc) we would give.
But no follower of Jesus is under any Malachi constrain to give tithe .

Those who give 10% and claim to be tithers, invoking curses on those who don’t give 10% are also under the curse , because the law that curses those who dont pay tithe at all, also curses those who don’t pay in full.

  1. To be sincere I am highly dissapointed in Kenny Kore’s comment, I think he should go and ask the Holy Spirit for better understanding before coming to make such a lame statement.

  2. In the new testament the Lord stated about the tithe in the gospel of Matthew: Mt 23:23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
