The most anticipated album of the year 2019 is finally here; Jesus is King by the one and only Kanye West. The much talked about album dropped on the 25th of October 2019 on digital platforms worldwide and is already raking in wide acclaims from around the world.

The official album tracklist deviated a little from the initially released tracklist with songs like “La Monster” and “Up From The Ashes” not making the final cut. Instead, we see songs like Jesus is Lord and Closed on Sunday make it to the back of the simple blue album cover.

FROM YEEZUS TO JESUS: Kanye West’s New Journey of Faith

Whether you think he is crazy or just speaking his truth, Hollywood hip hop artist and fashion designer cum business mogul, Kanye West is born again, yes you heard me right, or at least that’s what he’s been saying recently. The hip hop artist first publicly declared his new found faith at a listening party in the George Washington University’s Lisner auditorium at Washington DC on the 12th of October 2019.

Though he has already been hosting star-studded “Sunday services” from his and Kim’s home in Calabasas, California, these services have metamorphosed into a moving phenomenon that has attracted throngs of crowds in every of its gatherings so far. These Sunday services are not your average church services though it sure appears to be church-like. The services which originally took place in a zen space in his and Kim’s home with colour-changing lights that amplify the many-person choir and band dressed in all-white clothing has since moved outdoors touring city to city. At Sunday Service, the choir sings gospel music, and jams along to Kanye’s songs, like “Lift Yourself,” “Power,” and “Father Stretch My Hands”, and gospel renditions of other secular artists’ songs.

It has been rumoured that his newfound faith might be causing some friction in his marriage, in a recent episode of ” keeping up with the Kardashians” Kanye is seen telling his wife Kim that he is no longer comfortable with the way she dresses, hmmm, could there be trouble in paradise? Well, we’re keeping our ears open for any update on this matter, in the meantime, we are left dazed at the recent course of events, one wonders is this for real? or just a huge publicity stunt? time will tell.
