Nigerian gospel music artist and internationally renowned minister, Sinach, has had an amazing record breaking year in 2020. It has indeed been quite the year for her!
It all started several months back, with the arrival of the novel COVID-19 on the global scene. This was cause for alarm and panic as almost all aspects of life were completely shut down and put on hold.
This led to people around the world trying to find hope and solace in family and loved ones. It was a time when people were indoors and were mostly meditating with music or entertaining themselves with movies.
The time then became perfect for the song, WAY MAKER, which became viral within a short period. Many videos began making the rounds throughout social media platforms of different people singing the song in different languages.
Shortly after, she ranked #1 on the Billboard Songwriters charts (for WAY MAKER), becoming the first ever Nigerian and African to do so. She sustained the top spot for over 15 weeks, setting another record.
She has since gone on to win awards such as the Maranatha Awards for Lifetime Achievement and a GMA DOVE AWARD for Song Of The Year, for “WAY MAKER”.
